Mechanism of Action
Dexrazoxane is a bisdioxopiperazine cardioprotective agent and topoisomerase II inhibitor. It chelates intracellular iron, reducing anthracyclineinduced freeradical formation and preventing cardiac mitochondrial damage. It also interferes with topoII catalytic cycles, giving it secondary anticancer activity.

Side Effects and Risks
