Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Digitoxin is a cardiac glycoside that inhibits Na⁺/KATPase in cardiomyocytes. This increases intracellular Na⁺, reducing Na⁺/Ca²⁺ exchange and elevating intracellular Ca²⁺. The result is positive inotropy and enhanced contractility. Compared to digoxin, digitoxin is more lipophilic with longer halflife.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in cardiaccontractility studies, iontransport modelling, Na⁺/KATPase inhibition research, and cardiotonicdrug development.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include severe arrhythmias, AV block, GI toxicity, vision changes (xanthopsia) and narrow therapeutic index. Handle with potent cardiotonicglycoside precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
