Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Colestyramine (cholestyramine) is a cationic anionexchange resin that binds bile acids with high affinity, interrupting enterohepatic circulation. This depletion of bile acids stimulates hepatic conversion of cholesterol into new bile acids, reduces LDL cholesterol and alters lipid and glucose homeostasis.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in enterohepaticcirculation research, lipidmetabolism models, bileacid signalling studies, toxinbinding assays and gastrointestinalsequestration analysis.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include constipation, bloating, interference with fatsoluble vitamin absorption, hypertriglyceridemia and drugbinding interactions. Handle with GIactive polymeric material precautions.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
