Mechanism of action
Bilobalide is a sesquiterpene trilactone from *Ginkgo biloba* with neuroprotective, GABA-modulating and mitochondrial-stabilising effects. It enhances neuronal survival by regulating mitochondrial permeability transition, increasing ATP synthesis and reducing oxidative stress. Bilobalide also modulates GABA_A receptors and influences neuroinflammatory signalling.
