Mechanism of Action
Dorzolamide hydrochloride is a carbonic anhydrase II (CAII) inhibitor that reduces aqueous humour secretion in the ciliary body, lowering intraocular pressure. It decreases bicarbonate production, reducing sodium and fluid transport across the epithelium.

Used in ocular pharmacology research, CAII inhibition assays, glaucomamodel modelling, and epithelial fluidtransport studies.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include ocular burning, bitter taste, corneal edema, allergic conjunctivitis, and rare systemic metabolic acidosis. Handle with carbonicanhydraseinhibitor precautions.
