Mechanism of Action
Dimethindene maleate is a selective Hhistaminereceptor antagonist with additional anticholinergic activity. It reduces vascular permeability, pruritus and allergic inflammation. It crosses the bloodbrain barrier but exhibits moderate sedation relative to firstgeneration antihistamines.
