Product Description

Mechanism of action

Azosemide is a loop diuretic that inhibits the NaK2Cl cotransporter (NKCC2) in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle. This reduces sodium and chloride reabsorption, leading to increased diuresis and natriuresis. It has longer duration and lower risk of ototoxicity compared with some other loop diuretics.

Benefits and advantages

Used in renal physiology research, transporter kinetics (NKCC2), diuretic SAR optimisation and models of fluid overload and electrolyte regulation. Also relevant in cardiovascularrenal interaction studies.

Side effects and risks

Risks include electrolyte disturbances (hyponatraemia, hypokalaemia), dehydration, hypotension and renal function changes. Handle with diureticactive safety controls.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
