Product Description
Mechanism of action
Azanidazol is a nitroimidazole derivative structurally related to metronidazole. It undergoes reductive activation in anaerobic microorganisms, generating reactive nitroradical intermediates that bind to DNA, causing strand breaks and loss of helical structure.
Benefits and advantages
Used in protozoal and anaerobic antibacterial research, DNAdamage modelling, and comparative nitroimidazole activation pathway studies. Provides key insights into microbial reductive metabolism.
Side effects and risks
Risks include neurotoxicity, GI upset and potential carcinogenicity associated with nitroimidazole radicals. Requires careful storage and anaerobicexposure control.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
