Mechanism of action
Aripiprazole is a dopaminesystem stabiliser that acts as a partial agonist at dopamine D and serotonin 5HTA receptors, and an antagonist at 5HTA receptors. This functional selectivity produces modulation rather than complete blockade of dopaminergic tone, reducing both hyper and hypodopaminergic signaling.

Used in psychiatric neuropharmacology, dopaminergic modulation studies, serotonindopamine interaction research, and receptorbinding kinetic modelling. Key in investigating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and depression mechanisms.
