Mechanism of action
Argatroban is a reversible direct thrombin inhibitor that binds to the active catalytic site of thrombin (factor IIa), preventing cleavage of fibrinogen to fibrin and blocking thrombinmediated platelet activation. It does not require antithrombin as a cofactor, giving predictable anticoagulant action.

Essential for research in anticoagulation, coagulation cascade modelling, heparininduced thrombocytopenia (HIT) studies, thrombininhibitor kinetics, and clotformation dynamics.
