Mechanism of Action
Domperidone maleate is a more stable salt form of domperidone, retaining D/D receptor antagonism in the enteric nervous system. The maleate form improves solubility and formulation stability. Like domperidone, it promotes coordinated gastric emptying through enhanced cholinergic activity.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include cardiac arrhythmias, QT prolongation, prolactin elevation, dizziness and GI discomfort. Handle with Dantagonist precautions.
