Mechanism of Action
Donepezil is a reversible, noncompetitive acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor that increases acetylcholine levels in synaptic clefts, especially in the cortex and hippocampus. It has high selectivity for AChE over butyrylcholinesterase, supporting cognitionrelated neural transmission.

Side Effects and Risks
