Dehydropiandrosterone (DHEA) is an endogenous adrenal steroid and metabolic precursor to testosterone and estradiol. It modulates nuclear receptor activity, immune function, glucose metabolism and neurosteroid signalling. DHEA interacts with PPARs, sigma receptors and neurotransmitter systems, influencing stress responses and inflammatory cascades.
