Mechanism of Action
Dehydroepiandrosterone acetate (DHEAacetate) is an esterified form of the endogenous steroid precursor DHEA. The acetate group enhances stability and modifies absorption kinetics. Upon enzymatic deesterification, DHEA enters androgen and estrogen biosynthetic pathways, influencing endocrine signalling, lipid metabolism, and immune modulation. It also interacts with neurosteroidsensitive receptors including GABAA and NMDA.
