Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Daunorubicin is an anthracycline antineoplastic agent that intercalates between DNA base pairs, inhibiting nucleicacid synthesis. It potently inhibits topoisomerase II, preventing DNA unwinding and generating lethal doublestrand breaks. Additionally, it undergoes redox cycling to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), contributing to mitochondrial damage and apoptotic signalling.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in leukemiamodel research, topoisomeraseII inhibition studies, ROSmediated cytotoxicity assays, multidrugresistance (Pgp/MDR1) modelling, apoptosis signalling experiments, and anthracycline SAR development.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include cumulative cardiomyopathy, severe myelosuppression, mucositis, alopecia, hepatotoxicity, and tissue necrosis upon extravasation. Handle only under strict cytotoxicagent containment.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
