Mechanism of Action
Decitabine (5‑aza‑2’‑deoxycytidine) is a DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) inhibitor that incorporates into DNA during replication. It traps DNMT enzymes, leading to genome‑wide hypomethylation, reactivation of silenced tumour‑suppressor genes, and induction of differentiation or apoptosis in malignant cells.

Used in epigenetic‑reprogramming studies, DNMT‑inhibition assays, myelodysplastic‑syndrome models, cancer‑gene regulation research, and nucleoside‑analogue SAR analysis.
