Mechanism of action
Carvedilol is a nonselective adrenergic antagonist with additional receptor blocking activity. It reduces cardiac workload through blockade while producing vasodilation via antagonism. Carvedilol also exhibits antioxidant properties and modulates mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiomyocytes.

Side effects and risks
