Product Description

Mechanism of action

Carvedilol is a non‑selective β‑adrenergic antagonist with additional α₁‑receptor blocking activity. It reduces cardiac workload through β₁ blockade while producing vasodilation via α₁ antagonism. Carvedilol also exhibits antioxidant properties and modulates mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiomyocytes.

Benefits and advantages

Used in heart‑failure research, hypertension studies, adrenergic‑receptor signalling research, oxidative‑stress cardiac models, vascular‑remodelling studies and β/α‑mixed antagonist SAR investigations.

Side effects and risks

Risks include hypotension, dizziness, bradycardia, fatigue, bronchospasm and metabolic disturbances. Handle with cardiovascular‑active compound precautions.
