Product Description
Mechanism of action
Caspofungin is an echinocandin antifungal that inhibits (1,3)Dglucan synthase, an essential enzyme for fungal cellwall glucan polymerisation. This weakens the fungal cell wall, causing osmotic fragility and lysis. It is fungicidal against *Candida* species and fungistatic against *Aspergillus* by inhibiting hyphal growth.
