Product Description
Mechanism of action
Carteolol is a nonselective adrenergic receptor antagonist with intrinsic sympathomimetic activity. It reduces intraocular pressure by decreasing aqueoushumor production and enhancing outflow. In systemic tissues it decreases heart rate, contractility and renin secretion.

Used in glaucoma research, receptor pharmacology, aqueoushumor dynamics studies, cardiovascular blocker modelling and sympathomimeticactivity investigations.
Side effects and risks
Risks include bradycardia, bronchoconstriction, hypotension, fatigue and ocular irritation. Handle with betablocker safety precautions.
