Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Droperidol is a dopamine D₂‑receptor antagonist with antiemetic, antipsychotic and sedative properties. It blocks dopaminergic signalling in the chemoreceptor trigger zone and has α‑adrenergic and serotonergic modulation effects. Its rapid onset makes it valuable in CNS behavioural‑research and antiemetic assays.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in dopamine‑pathway research, antiemetic mechanism studies, sedation modelling, and neuroreceptor pharmacology assays.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include QT prolongation, extrapyramidal symptoms, hypotension, akathisia, and CNS depression. Handle with antipsychotic/antiemetic precautions.
