Product Description

Mechanism of action

Carbachol is a nonselective cholinergic agonist resistant to acetylcholinesterase hydrolysis. It activates both muscarinic and nicotinic receptors, causing strong parasympathomimetic effects: miosis, increased smoothmuscle contraction, glandular secretion and reduced intraocular pressure by enhancing aqueoushumor outflow. It is significantly longer acting than acetylcholine.

Benefits and advantages

Used in receptorbinding studies, muscarinic/nicotinic signalling research, GImotility models, smoothmuscle contraction assays, ophthalmiccholinergic investigations and neurotransmission pathway mapping.

Side effects and risks

Risks include bradycardia, bronchospasm, abdominal cramps, sweating and hypotension. Handle under cholinergicagonist precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
