Mechanism of action
Betulol is a semisynthetic triterpenoid structurally related to betulin, exhibiting antiinflammatory, antioxidant and vasodilatory properties. Mechanistically, it modulates nitricoxide signalling, reduces oxidative stress and may influence eicosanoid pathways.

Side effects and risks
Risks include mild cytotoxicity at higher doses, hepatic enzyme elevation and irritation. Handle with plantderived triterpenoid compound precautions.
