Mechanism of Action

Dehydrocortisone acetate is a corticosteroid derivative with reduced glucocorticoid potency. It acts through classic GR‑mediated gene regulation, decreasing inflammatory cytokines, inhibiting arachidonic‑acid pathways, and modulating carbohydrate metabolism.

Used in steroid‑pathway modelling, GR‑activation assays, inflammation‑suppression studies, and corticosteroid SAR research.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include mild adrenal suppression, metabolic imbalance, fluid retention and skin thinning (topical). Handle with glucocorticoid‑class precautions.
