Mechanism of Action
Erythromycin phosphate is a highly watersoluble parenteral salt. It dissociates rapidly to release free erythromycin, which binds the 50S ribosome and inhibits bacterial protein synthesis.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include infusionsite irritation, hepatotoxicity, arrhythmias and GI symptoms. Handle with parenteralmacrolide precautions.
