Product Description
Mechanism of Action
Ceftazidime pentahydrate is a hydrated form of ceftazidime, a thirdgeneration cephalosporin with potent activity against gramnegative organisms, especially *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*. It binds PBPs and disrupts cellwall crosslinking. The pentahydrate form provides stability advantages for storage and formulation.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in pseudomonalresistance modelling, lactamasemechanism studies, ICU pathogen susceptibility profiling, pharmacokinetic simulations and comparative antipseudomonal research. Also valuable in biofilm and nosocomial infection models.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include neurotoxicity in renal impairment, hypersensitivity, GI effects and emergence of resistant subpopulations. Handle as a highpotency lactam.
Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
