Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Galantamine hydrobromide is a reversible acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor that also allosterically modulates nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, enhancing cholinergic neurotransmission. This dual mechanism improves synaptic acetylcholine levels and receptor responsiveness.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in neurodegeneration models, AChE inhibition assays, cholinergic signalling research and cognitive-function studies.

Side Effects and Risks

Nausea, bradycardia, cholinergic overstimulation and GI upset. Handle as a potent neuroactive cholinesterase inhibitor.
