Mechanism of Action
Fumazinil (Ro 151788 analogue) is a benzodiazepinesite ligand that acts predominantly as an antagonist or partial inverse agonist at the benzodiazepine binding site of GABAA receptors. By displacing benzodiazepine agonists from their allosteric site, it reduces their potentiation of GABAmediated chloride currents and normalizes inhibitory tone.

Side Effects and Risks
