Mechanism of Action
Everolimus is an mTORC1 inhibitor derived from sirolimus. It binds FKBP12, forming a complex that inhibits mTORC1 signalling, suppressing protein synthesis, cell growth, angiogenesis and metabolic regulation. It is widely used in oncology and immunomodulation research.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include stomatitis, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, immunosuppression, pneumonitis and delayed wound healing. Handle with mTORinhibitor precautions.
