Mechanism of Action
Eperisone hydrochloride is a centrally acting skeletal muscle relaxant that reduces α‑ and γ‑motor neuron excitability, enhances spinal inhibitory pathways and induces peripheral vasodilation. It also reduces Ca²⁺ influx in smooth and skeletal muscle.
Benefits and Advantages
Used in neuromuscular‑transmission research, muscle‑spasm modelling, Ca²⁺‑channel modulation studies, and muscle‑relaxant SAR assays.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include dizziness, hypotension, muscle weakness, nausea and rare hepatotoxicity. Handle with muscle‑relaxant precautions.
