Dyclothane is a halogenated hydrocarbon anesthetic compound historically used in inhalational anesthesia research. Its mechanism involves potentiation of GABAA receptors, inhibition of NMDA receptors and alteration of neuronal membrane fluidity, resulting in CNS depression and hypnosis.
