Mechanism of Action
Doxylamine succinate is a firstgeneration Hhistamine receptor antagonist with strong sedative properties. Its lipophilicity allows CNS penetration, producing antihistaminic, anticholinergic and antinausea effects. It is commonly used in sleepregulation research and histaminergicpathway studies.

Used in Hreceptor antagonism assays, sleeparchitecture research, antihistamine SAR studies, and nauseamodulation modelling.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include drowsiness, anticholinergic effects (dry mouth, urinary retention), cognitive impairment, paradoxical excitation (rare) and overdose toxicity. Handle with sedating antihistamine precautions.
