Mechanism of Action
Dithranol (anthralin) is an anthracene derivative used as an antiproliferative and antiinflammatory agent in dermatologic models. It generates reactive oxygen species in keratinocytes and mitochondria, leading to inhibition of DNA synthesis and suppression of hyperproliferative epidermal growth. It also modulates inflammatory mediators in psoriatic plaques.

Side Effects and Risks
