Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Dimercaprol (British AntiLewisite, BAL) is a classic heavymetal chelator containing two sulfhydryl groups that bind arsenic, lead, mercury, and other soft metal cations. The chelated complexes are excreted renally. It competes with endogenous sulfhydrylcontaining enzymes, reversing metalinduced enzymatic disruption.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in metaltoxicity modelling, chelationchemistry research, arsenicenzyme inhibition studies, and antidotedevelopment assays.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include hypertension, tachycardia, vomiting, pain at injection sites and nephrotoxicity. Handle with heavymetal chelator precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
