Mechanism of Action
Diclonixin is a non‑steroidal anti‑inflammatory compound structurally related to nicotinic acid derivatives. It inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis and exerting analgesic and anti‑inflammatory effects. Its activity spectrum is influenced by substitution patterns on the aromatic ring.

Used in COX‑inhibition research, analgesic SAR studies, inflammatory‑pathway modelling, and prostaglandin‑biosynthesis assays.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include GI irritation, renal strain, hypersensitivity, bleeding risk and hepatotoxicity at high doses. Handle with NSAID‑class compound precautions.
