DIAZOXID

Diazoxide is a potassium channel opener that relaxes vascular smooth muscle and inhibits insulin release. It is used for hypertensive emergencies and hypoglycemia due to excessive insulin secretion. Side effects include fluid retention, hyperglycemia, tachycardia, and hypotension. Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.

Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Diazoxide is a potassiumchannel opener that activates ATPsensitive K⁺ channels (K_ATP) in pancreatic cells, vascular smooth muscle and cardiac tissue. In cells it inhibits insulin release by hyperpolarizing the membrane. In smooth muscle, it produces vasodilation through decreased calcium influx.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in K_ATPchannel research, insulinsecretion modelling, vasculardilation studies, metabolicsyndrome research, and cardiacelectrophysiology assays.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include hyperglycemia, edema, hypotension, tachycardia, hirsutism and electrolyte disturbances. Handle with ionchannel modulator precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
