Deflazacort is an oxazoline‑derivative glucocorticoid with strong anti‑inflammatory and immunosuppressive activity. It binds cytosolic glucocorticoid receptors, suppressing NF‑κB, AP‑1 and cytokine expression while maintaining a favourable muscle‑preservation profile relative to other corticosteroids.
