Mechanism of Action
Deferoxamine mesylate is a highaffinity siderophoremimetic chelator that binds ferric iron (Fe) to form stable octahedral complexes. It reduces oxidative damage by limiting free iron availability and modulates irontransport proteins such as transferrin and ferritin.
