Cotarnine is a benzylisoquinoline alkaloid derived from opiumrelated biosynthetic pathways. It exhibits cholinergicmodulating, smoothmuscle regulating and mild vasodilatory activity. It interacts with muscarinic signalling and may inhibit phosphodiesterase pathways.
