Mechanism of Action

Cotarnine is a benzylisoquinoline alkaloid derived from opium‑related biosynthetic pathways. It exhibits cholinergic‑modulating, smooth‑muscle regulating and mild vasodilatory activity. It interacts with muscarinic signalling and may inhibit phosphodiesterase pathways.
