Mechanism of Action
Clemastine fumarate is a firstgeneration Hantihistamine with strong anticholinergic and sedative properties. It crosses the bloodbrain barrier and blocks central and peripheral H receptors, reducing vasodilation, permeability and allergic symptoms. Also provides mild antitussive and antiemetic effects.

Side Effects and Risks
Risks include sedation, anticholinergic effects, tachycardia, dizziness, urinary retention and impaired cognition. Handle with CNSpenetrant antihistamine precautions.
