Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Chloropyramine is a first‑generation H₁‑antihistamine with anticholinergic, analgesic and mild α‑adrenergic‑blocking properties. It competitively inhibits H₁ receptors, decreasing histamine‑induced vasodilation, capillary permeability and allergic symptoms. It readily crosses the blood–brain barrier, producing sedative CNS effects.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in allergy research, histamine‑signalling modelling, antihistamine SAR studies, anaphylaxis‑pathway exploration, and CNS‑penetrant antihistamine comparisons.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include sedation, anticholinergic effects, hypotension, dizziness and rare cardiac conduction disturbances. Handle as a potent sedating antihistamine.
