Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Cetamium is a quaternary ammonium antiseptic exhibiting membranedisruptive activity. It interacts with negatively charged bacterial phospholipids, causing membrane instability, leakage of intracellular contents and rapid cell death. It is most active against grampositive bacteria and certain fungi.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in antisepticmechanism studies, membranepermeabilisation assays, microbialkilling kinetics research, surfacedecontamination modelling and quaternaryammonium SAR analysis.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include dermal irritation, mucosal damage, respiratory irritation (if aerosolised) and cytotoxicity to mammalian cells at high concentrations. Handle with disinfectantcompound precautions.

Only GMP materials will be supplied, logistics all according to GDP.
