Product Description

Mechanism of action

Bisoprolol is a highly selective β₁‑adrenergic receptor antagonist that reduces heart rate, cardiac output and renin release, leading to decreased myocardial oxygen demand and improved haemodynamics. Its β₁ selectivity minimises bronchoconstriction and metabolic interference compared with non-selective β‑blockers.

Benefits and advantages

Widely used in cardiovascular research, heart‑failure modelling, adrenergic‑receptor signalling studies, RAAS regulation experiments, antihypertensive drug-development and electrophysiology of β₁ blockade.

Side effects and risks

Risks include bradycardia, hypotension, fatigue, AV-block progression and rare bronchospasm. Handle with cardiovascular‑active compound precautions.
