Mechanism of action
Biperiden hydrochloride is a water-soluble salt of biperiden with identical pharmacodynamic properties. It blocks central M muscarinic receptors, reduces cholinergic transmission in the basal ganglia and modulates movement-related neural circuits. The HCl form provides improved solubility for controlled dosing.

Side effects and risks
Risks mirror those of biperiden: dry mouth, confusion, constipation, tachycardia and CNS anticholinergic effects. Handle with anticholinergic safety protocols.
