Product Description

Mechanism of action

Aprindine is a class Ib antiarrhythmic agent that blocks voltage‑gated sodium channels in cardiac tissue. By stabilising the inactivated state of Naᵥ channels, aprindine reduces automaticity and suppresses premature ventricular contractions. It also exhibits mild local anaesthetic–like effects.

Benefits and advantages

Used in electrophysiology research, arrhythmia mechanism studies, sodium‑channel pharmacology, and investigational cardiac conduction modelling. Valuable for testing channel‑blocking potency and electrophysiological signatures.

Side effects and risks

Possible proarrhythmia, CNS effects, visual disturbances, hypotension, and conduction abnormalities. Requires cardiac‑active laboratory precautions.
