Mechanism of action
Anidulafungin is an echinocandin antifungal agent that inhibits (1,3)Dglucan synthase, an essential enzyme in fungal cell-wall biosynthesis. Inhibition disrupts cell-wall integrity, leading to osmotic instability and fungal cell lysis. It is fungicidal against Candida species and fungistatic against Aspergillus.
