Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Gabadaxol (gaboxadol derivative) is a selective extrasynaptic GABA‑A receptor agonist that preferentially activates δ‑subunit‑containing GABA‑A receptors, enhancing tonic inhibition rather than phasic synaptic currents. This produces distinct sedative and sleep‑modulating effects.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in sleep‑architecture research, tonic vs. phasic GABAergic signalling studies, receptor‑subtype pharmacology and CNS drug‑discovery models.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include sedation, dizziness, ataxia, cognitive impairment and, at high doses, respiratory depression. Handle with CNS‑depressant and GABA‑agonist precautions.
