Mechanism of Action
Everolimus is an mTORC1 inhibitor derived from sirolimus. It binds FKBP‑12, forming a complex that inhibits mTORC1 signalling, suppressing protein synthesis, cell growth, angiogenesis and metabolic regulation. It is widely used in oncology and immunomodulation research.

Used in mTOR‑pathway modelling, tumour‑growth inhibition studies, angiogenesis‑suppression research, and immunosuppressive signalling assays.
Side Effects and Risks
Risks include stomatitis, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, immunosuppression, pneumonitis and delayed wound healing. Handle with mTOR‑inhibitor precautions.
