Product Description

Mechanism of Action

Epithiazide is a thiazide‑like diuretic that inhibits the Na⁺/Cl⁻ cotransporter (NCC) in the distal convoluted tubule. This reduces sodium reabsorption, increases diuresis, lowers plasma volume and decreases peripheral resistance over time.

Benefits and Advantages

Used in renal‑tubular transport research, hypertension‑model assays, electrolyte‑regulation studies, and diuretic SAR analysis.

Side Effects and Risks

Risks include hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hyperuricemia, hypercalcemia and glucose intolerance. Handle with diuretic‑class precautions.
