Mechanism of Action
Elexacaftor is a CFTR corrector that improves folding, trafficking and stability of mutated CFTR proteins, especially F508del variants. It increases the quantity of functional CFTR at the cell surface and is used in combination regimens to enhance chloride transport. Its mechanism involves stabilization of NBD1–MSD interfaces in the CFTR structure.

Side Effects and Risks
