Mechanism of Action
Elenbecestat is a potent BACE1 (site amyloid precursor proteincleaving enzyme 1) inhibitor designed to reduce production of amyloid peptides. By blocking the ratelimiting step in the amyloidogenic pathway, it lowers A40/42 formation and modulates neurodegenerative processes relevant to Alzheimer’s disease.
